The Cessna 152

The Cessna 152 is a light and compact aircraft for beginners.  It's main purpose is to teach beginning pilots to learn to fly an airplane.  This aircraft is a small two seater design that is capable of almost flying itself.  The high wing design helps the students to see the runway and ground features without any interference.  These pictures shows a 152 on the ground and one taking off.
The picture below shows the inside of the Cessna 152.  As you can see, there are no modern electronics or glass screens.  This allows students to learn how the gauges work without the help of modern equipment such as GPS.  The modern cockpit is called a glass cockpit which is equiped with GPS and the newest navigational equipment.  Each gauge serves a different purpose.

Most Cessnas have stationary landing gear.If you have retracteble landing gear, then the cost to buy the plane would skyrocket. It would make it alot easier if they have stationary landing gear instead of moveable ones. To make them non-air resistent, they made streamline airfoiles.  The cost of a new Cessna 152 would start around $125,000 and up. The navigational equipment could add $100,000 more.  Retractable landing gear would add another $100,000 to the cost.
If you decide to learn to fly, it would take many hours to earn your private pilots license.  Most instructos will tell you it will take approximately 40 hours at a minimum to get your license.  However, most graduates end up taking between 50 and 60 hours.  Each hour could cost you $150.00 plus the cost of the instructor.  They start you out by flying two to three hours per week.  Each time you fly, they give you ground school for and hour , then you fly for an hour.  Once you receive your private license you can go for additional licenses.  These licenses are called instrument license, cross country license, multiengine license, instructor license, and many more.  These license can cost $10,000 to $20,000 for each license because it depends on the number of hours you need for the license.
I hope this blog helps you understand some of the requirements for the aircraft and the cost to get your private pilot's license.  Thank you for reading my blog.  I will post more information soon.
